NEW OPENING OF A ROOF PUB ON THE TERRACE OF FIERAMILANOCITY
Close your eyes and imagine a romantic drink looking at the stars, the pleasant breeze of a roof garden while listening to lounge music, open air tables and gazebos where you can rest and relax, meet with new people and dance at the rhythm of the music. Try to feel the wonderful sensation of escaping from the hot Milan summer nights, still staying in the hearth of the city . Open your eyes and go to Fieramilanocity: this fantasy is for real now with the new opening of the Shangai Garden Caffe on the 12 June in Milan. It’s one of the key events of 2008, a place that has all the potentials to become one of the coolest meeting points of Milan “movida” over the summer .
The location is pretty funky and unusual: the place is on the balconies of Pavilion 3 inside the old Fiera building located on the corner between Viale Scarampo and Via Colleoni. It has been created by Fiera Milano Food System, the restaurant and catering company of the Fiera Milano group, in partnership with the Shanghai Café disco pub, which has been for 16 years one of the favourite and most trendy bars in Milan over winter nights.
'Opening the first summer venue on the terrace of the pavilion at fieramilanocity is something we have been looking to do for a long time, we really wanted to make Fiera Milano a place where the people of Milan can relax and have fun, as well as a place where exhibitors and visitors can do business,' explains Giulio Gallera, Chairman of Fiera Milano Food System. 'Our aim is to tailor Fiera Milano to serve Milan and its citizens, not just as a business centre, but also as a place of leisure that is open to all.'
The venue offers with its 200 meters of space , an ideal place for happy and after hours. There are two bars, a buffet area, a dance floor (carefully created to prevent the music from being too loud outside) and gazebos with ethnic-style armchairs and sofas surrounded by plants and flowers. Even if it is mainly open air, the place, designed by the Italian architect Mario Bellini, can be as good with bad weather and rains . Mainly addressed to people over 25, the entrance is free and subject to discretion.
Main target of the PR for this year is essentially to create the same fascinating and engaging atmosphere that has contributed to the success of the homonymous Shangai Caffè so far . Tha Shangai Garden Club opens from 7:30 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, and from 10:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays over the summer ( from June to September ) .
We believe that this venue has everything it needs to became the “must place” during the Expo of 2015.
